Depending on the radionuclide, sources feature single or double encapsulation with steel or titanium windows.

Shielded lead or tungsten source containers are available to ensure the safe storage and transport of radioactive sources, in full compliance with current regulations.
Transport is carried out in accordance with ADR Regulation – Class 7 and Legislative Decree 101/2020.
Most industrial sources are shipped by air in Type A non-returnable shielded containers; when necessary, Type B returnable containers temporarily provided by the manufacturer are used.
