In the field of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of occupational diseases, Campoverde has established strong partnerships with occupational physicians, analytical laboratories, and clinical facilities, enabling the delivery of comprehensive occupational health and medical surveillance services, which include:
- Appointment of the Competent Physician (Medico Competente) and Authorized Physician (Medico Autorizzato).
- Execution of medical examinations and health assessments for employees exposed to occupational risks.
- Management of medical documentation in full compliance with employee privacy regulations.
- Monitoring of deadlines, scheduling of periodic checkups, and support activities for HR departments and company management.
Campoverde has developed a collaborative network of physicians possessing the required educational and professional qualifications to assist employers in the assessment of occupational health risks.
Specifically, this includes:
- Competent Physicians (Medici Competenti): healthcare professionals meeting the requirements set forth in Art. 38 of Legislative Decree 81/2008, responsible for occupational health surveillance.
- Authorized Physicians (Medici Autorizzati): Competent Physicians holding specific authorization pursuant to Legislative Decree 101/2020, responsible for medical surveillance of workers exposed to ionizing radiation (medical radioprotection).
The Competent and Authorized Physicians, formally appointed by the Employer, perform the following activities:
- Collaborate in assessing health and safety risks for workers.
- Define the health surveillance plan based on the results of the risk assessment for homogeneous groups of workers.
- Conduct medical examinations as established in the health plan.
- Manage medical records and issue fitness-for-work certificates.
Participate in the annual meeting of the Prevention and Protection Service (SPP).
The occupational health surveillance service, carried out by the appointed Competent and/or Authorized Physician, includes the performance of medical examinations aimed at assessing workers’ health in relation to occupational risks. These include:
- Pre-employment medical examination
- Periodic medical examination
- Medical examination upon worker’s request
- Medical examination upon termination of employment
- Medical examination for return to work after a long illness
Medical examinations can be conducted on company premises or at affiliated medical centers or clinics.
Depending on the specific risks associated with the workers’ duties, the health surveillance program may be supplemented with:
Instrumental tests (e.g., audiometry, spirometry)
Blood and urine analyses
Drug tests
Specialist examinations (e.g., ophthalmologic exams), and more.
Among the duties of the Competent and/or Authorized Physician is the establishment, updating, and safekeeping of a health and risk record for each worker subject to occupational health surveillance and medical radioprotection.
These health records, which may be in paper or electronic format, must be stored in full compliance with data protection and worker privacy regulations. The content of each record must be accessible only to the appointed Physician and the worker concerned.
The Competent/Authorized Physician issues fitness-for-work certificates, which are transmitted to the Employer for proper recordkeeping and compliance purposes.
Campoverde’s organizational secretariat provides companies with comprehensive assistance in managing occupational health surveillance, ensuring regular monitoring of workers’ health status and the issuance of fitness-for-work certificates.
In particular, the service includes:
- Coordination with HR representatives for planning medical examinations and health assessments.
- Support in managing employee notifications and communications related to the organization of health surveillance activities.
- Electronic transmission of fitness-for-work certificates to the designated company representatives.
- Assistance to the Competent/Authorized Physician in managing the scheduling system, which tracks the periodicity of required medical assessments based on job roles and exposure levels.
